NANTS FCT CHAPTER ELECTIONS - The National Association of Nigerian Traders NANTS

NANTS FCT-Abuja Chapter successfully conducted fresh elections to usher in new crop of leaders to pilot its affairs on Tuesday 14th November, 2023.

The elections saw the emergence of Chief Ifeanyi Okonkwo who defeated Mr Chibuzo to become the new chairman of the FCT NANTS with Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed as the new Secretary.

The women leader Dr Mrs Rachel Adewunmi retained her seat with an overwhelming vote of confidence.

Delegates from over 30 key markets located in the FCT were on ground and constituted what could be described as the electoral college as prescribed by the FCT NANTS Constitution.

The voting was a fair and strategic open process to ensure credible outcomes which was achieved through close monitoring as midwifed by the outgoing chairman, Chief Edozie Ugwu and members of the electoral body.

The NANTS Secretariat President was well represented at the elections by Barr Legborsi Nwiabu.

With the inauguration of executives in view, it is also worthy of note that an Appeal Panel has been set up to address issues or grievances that may arise from the outcome of the election.
