AGRA AND CONSORTIUM MEMBERS LAUNCH MASSIVE AGRICULTURE PROJECT IN NIGER STATE

Amidst the glaring challenges of insecurity in Niger State of Nigeria, which has exacerbated food insecurity in the State, the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and her partners under the Partnership for Inclusive Agricultural Transformation in Africa (PIATA) have commenced the implementation of an agro-based project in Niger State of Nigeria.

 The project with the theme Improving Farmers Resilience and Upscaling Productivity, Incomes, and Livelihood in Selected Value Chains in Niger State is targeted at increasing productivity, enhancing output market and incomes among 300,000 farmers and building resilience for sustainable production in the following selected crops: rice, maize, soybean, cowpea, and vegetable (okra) value chains.
