We were pleased to receive AGRA auditor Mr Michael Opare Darkwah to Gidan Mangoro an adopted village on the AGRA Niger Consortium project. His mission was to sight the NANTS modular grain processing center which was established to assist the community to have easy access to rice processing facility as well as encourage group formation, youth and women employment along the value chain.e also had the opportunity to engage some of the beneficiaries of the intervention comprising VSLAs, Extension Agents, CBA aggregators and community leaders. The beneficiaries expressed delight at the impact of the project so far thanking NANTS for standing out in her implementation strategy as well as solicited for establishment of modular grain processing centers for women processors in other communities of Niger State.
Though the grain processing facility is yet to be commissioned and officially handed over to the beneficiaries, skeletal test-running processing activities are already ongoing to keep the place functional. We at NANTS are indeed grateful to AGRA for the opportunity to be part of the reasons the small holder farmers can smile as a result of expanded business opportunities for improved livelihood.
