The key implementers of the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and her partners under the Partnership for Inclusive Agricultural Transformation in Africa (PIATA) Agriculture project in Niger State have been literarily firing from all nuzzles engaging all fronts through Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) among smallholder farmers towards improving food availability amidst the horrible state of insecurity in the State.
The interventions are courtesy of the project titled Improving farmers’ resilience and upscaling productivity, incomes, and livelihood in Rice, maize, Soybean, Cowpea, and Vegetable value chains in Niger State It would be recalled that with financial support from AGRA and her PIATA partners, the Niger consortium comprising Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), National Program for Food Security (NPFS) and Tecni Seed Ltd; was awarded a three (3) year grant in 2022 to implement the project aimed at empowering 300,000 smallholder farmers selected from 16 Local Government Areas of Niger State with some identified technologies and innovations aimed at transforming the agricultural ecosystem in Niger State.
