Nigeria has relaunched its National Trade Facilitation Committee, (NTFC) to create collaboration with stakeholders to address difficulties and generate opportunities for the global marketplace.
The integration of Trade Facilitation and Liberalization Sub-Committee of the Presidential Council on Industrial Revitalization with the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC) and re-launch by the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment (FMITI) into a single entity named Enhanced National Trade Facilitation Committee (ENTFC) is a strategic move aimed at achieving the country’s economic diversification and sustainable development goals.
The re-launch event which was chaired by the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Uzoka Anite had in attendance the Permanent Secretary of FMITI, Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Custom Services Mr Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the NACCIMA President Barrister Dele Oye, the President of NANTS, Dr Ken Ukaoha (represented by Solomon Obike, Head of Agric & livelihoods) as well as members of the National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC).
The Committee, which exists in line with the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA), comprises reps of Nigeria Government agencies and the private sector. We are very optimistic that this integration and re-launch will help strengthen the nation’s economic competitiveness on a global scale.
