NANTS PROJECT ON THE NIGERIA CASSAVA POLICY - The National Association of Nigerian Traders NANTS

Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava in the world. In order to explore the comparative advantage opportunity provided by the subsector, Nigeria had put in place a well thought out policy initiative for the cassava value chain. 

It would be recalled that during the immediate past administration, NANTS conducted a survey on the cassava bread initiative which seeks to include 20 percent of cassava into wheat flour for the production of bread and other confectioneries production in Nigeria. Indeed, majority of Nigerians were in support of the policy initiative as seen in the survey report.
